Rising musical sensation and multi-instrumentalist Dinmukhamed Kanatuly Kudaibergen who popularly goes by Dimash Kudaibergen is taking over the world with his powerful vocals. By the age of 25, Dimash has already bagged a record-breaking number of awards and has wowed millions of audiences across the globe with his talent.

With an astounding vocal range and the ability to sing any genre, from folk music to electronic and pop music, Dimash has risen from the position of a local Kazakh star to a world-renown artist. And as he continues to gain fame and popularity, a lot of his newest fans crave to know more about him. And to do so, we must go back to the beginning of Dimash Kudaibergen’s life.

On 24th May 1994 in Kazakhstan, a baby boy was born in the town of Aktobe. This child was the firstborn of the couple Kanat Aitbayev, and Svetlana Aitbayeva and the new parents named him Dinmukhamed Kanatuly Kudaibergen. At the time of their son’s birth, Kanat Aitbayev and Svetlana Aitbayeva were budding music artists in Kazakhstan who took to entertaining crowds all over the country. And thanks to the Kazakh culture that entrusted the care of the firstborn son to the grandparents, this musical couple was able to pursue their music careers further while the grandparents helped with the nurturing of the little boy.

Even though their firstborn was primarily raised by the grandparents, Kanat Aitbayev and Svetlana Aitbayeva enjoyed having their son accompany them to their performances. And it was during such moments that their son's desire to perform on a stage came to light. Svetlana Aitbayeva reminisces how it was a common sight to see her baby boy running up on stage at the end of performances so that he could take the final bow with his parents.

Kanat Aitbayev and Svetlana Aitbayeva most significant point of success were marked when the Kazakh government awarded them with the coveted “Honored Music Artist” title. Kanat Aitbayev proceeded to become the leader of the regional cultural development board of Aktobe while his wife Svetlana Aitbayeva joined the Aktobe Philharmonic Society as a soprano singer and also became the Artistic Director of the Saz children's studio in Aktobe.

All these are achievements that both Kanat Aitbayev and Svetlana Aitbayeva are proud of, but they both agree that they fade in comparison to the success they have made in nurturing their son’s talent and musical

career so far.

From encouraging Dimash to compete in singing contests since the age of 6 to flying to different destinations of their son’s musical journey, nothing has been more fulfilling to the couple than supporting their son to live his dream fully.

As a father, Kanat Aitbayev has played a very active role in his son’s musical career by being part of his management team. The bond between him and his son has been profound throughout Dimash’s musical journey. It was particularly heart-melting to watch Dimash react to his father surprising him at the end of his performance during the 2nd episode of China’s “I’m Singer” singing contest.

Kanat Aitbayev flew from Kazakhstan to China to watch his son perform but remained anonymous in the audience during the performance because he did not want to be a distraction. At the end of the performance, Kanat Aitbayev made his presence known by saluting to his son, who broke down on seeing his father.

Dimash Kudaibergen had been finding it hard to deal with being so far away from his family during his stay in China, and his father's sight was a much-needed comfort. And even though Dimash confessed to missing his family and wanting to go home, his father reminded that they also missed him, but the competition was more importatnt. That is where he belonged! And as fate would have it, China's "I'm Singer" contest turned out to be one of the most defining moments in Dimash’s musical career that propelled him to world fame.

Today, during Dimash’s performances and appearances, it is common to spot his parents, Kanat Aitbayev and Svetlana Aitbayeva or his siblings, Raushan and Abilmansur with him. As for his grandparents, they try to make it to his concerts and contests as often as they can, but when they cannot travel, they keep contact with Dimash via WhatsApp. Dimash describes this constant support and love from the family as the greatest motivation behind his success as an artist. And on numerous occasions, Dimash Kudaibergen has acknowledged the enormous impact his family’s support has had on his musical career.
